Humans: Get together and create fearlessly, the results are titillating!
Snatch Power’s presentation of “Fetish Wonderland”, a burlesque and fashion show loosely based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, is about rejecting the norm, trekking through fear, and becoming every version of your true, beautiful, and disturbing self.
Dissatisfied with her current lot in life as a housewife, “Ginger Snatch“, the production’s heroine, journeys through her sexuality to discover a less compartmentalized, less repressed, more balanced and free version of herself. With scarcely clothed, decadent guides like The Cheshire Pussy, The Mad Hater, The Rouge Rabbit, and others, perhaps Fetish Wonderland says even more of what Carroll was hinting at in the literary classic from which it sprouted. Snatch Power beckons us further down the rabbit hole, and dares us to ride our fears and fetishes to a new wonderland of self awareness and endless potential.
Here’s a a few photos and a video interview with producer Uhura Moor, and choreographer Flannery Kennedy. Enjoy!
